Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Appfairly ("we", "our", or "us") is an Android app studio that develops and publishes mobile applications on the Google Play Store. This Privacy Policy applies to all apps published under the Appfairly developer account, including SoundCast: TV Music Visualizer and Screen Cast HDMI USB Connector, as well as this website (appfairly.org).

2. Information We Collect

We are committed to collecting only the minimum data necessary to operate our apps. Depending on which app you use, we may collect the following:

Information you provide directly:

  • Email address or contact details if you reach out to us for support

Information collected automatically:

  • Device information — device model, operating system version, and hardware capabilities (used to check compatibility features such as DisplayPort Alt Mode support)
  • App usage data — anonymous crash reports and performance diagnostics to help us improve app stability
  • Advertising identifiers — the Google Advertising ID (GAID), used to serve relevant ads through Google AdMob where applicable

We do not collect:

  • Your name, physical address, or payment information
  • Your media files, music library, or photos
  • Your precise location
  • Any data from third-party music services (Spotify, YouTube Music) beyond what is needed to connect within the app

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and improve our apps
  • Diagnose crashes and fix technical issues
  • Display advertisements (where applicable) via Google AdMob
  • Respond to support requests you submit to us
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for profiling, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond what is described in this policy.

4. Advertising and Third-Party SDKs

Some of our apps display advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and other non-personal data to serve relevant ads. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of personalized ads at any time through your device settings:

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

Our apps may also integrate the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Google Play Services — Google Privacy Policy
  • Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting and diagnostics
  • Spotify SDK (SoundCast only) — used solely to enable music playback connection within the app
  • YouTube Music (SoundCast only) — used solely to enable music playback connection within the app

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — third-party vendors (such as Google) that help us operate our apps, subject to confidentiality obligations
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or government authority
  • Business transfers — if Appfairly is acquired or merges with another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction

6. Data Retention

We retain data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Crash and diagnostic data is typically retained for 90 days. Support emails are retained for up to 2 years. You may request deletion of any personal data we hold by contacting us at contact@appfairly.org.

7. Children's Privacy

Our apps are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at contact@appfairly.org and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request that we delete your data
  • Opt-out of advertising — opt out of personalized ads via your device settings

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we are committed to protecting your data to the best of our ability.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our apps after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
